Our commitment

This site is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That describes how we build and test the site. No third party has audited or certified it, and we do not claim it is free of accessibility defects.

How we test

Automated accessibility checks run against our key public pages every time we change the site, and we test the ordering flow by keyboard by hand. The site is built with semantic headings and labels, a skip-to-content link, visible keyboard focus, keyboard operation of the map used to frame your terrain, and respect for your system's reduced-motion setting.

Where we fall short

Designing a map involves a 3D preview and an interactive map, which are visual by nature. Your choices are made with labeled controls, and checkout lists the finished specification as text. Reading that specification is not the same as watching the model turn, and where the map frame sits on the terrain is a choice you can only judge by looking at it. We also know that some status changes are not announced to screen readers, including the preview's progress label on the design page, the brief progress lines while your track is being read or checked, the notice that direct import from a fitness service is unavailable, and the message shown when a share link is no longer available. We are working on these, and we will update this page as they change.

If you hit a barrier here, tell us. Email hello@traceterrain.com or use our contact form, and say which page you were on and what happened. We read every message ourselves and reply to most within a few business days. We answer accessibility reports first.

If this site does not work for you at all, you do not have to use it to buy a map. Email us your route file and what you would like (size, shape, colors, any engraving), and we will design it with you and place the order on your behalf, at the same price you would pay here.
